Obituary
Arthur Langerak, age 89, of Grand Rapids, was taken home to glory on Monday, May 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Antonia (Helderup) Langerak; as well as 4 brothers and two sisters. He will be lovingly missed by his wife, Ruth (Snip) Langerak of 66 years; his children and grandchildren, Ken and Barb (Betsy and Casey Herrington, Nick and Kristen, Josh), Jerry (Erik and Abigail, Heather and Russ Dykema), Larry and Renee (Sarah and John Morsink, Dan and Stephanie), Robyn and Steve Wassink (Lydia, Zachary, Jonathan and Annika), Darlene and Ade Van Kempen (Josh and Vanessa, Rachel and Kyle Brummel, and Isaac); 11 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Hofmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Edna Snip, Mary Snip, Dorothy and Arlan Potgeter, Bert and Bob Timmer, Daane and Bea Potgeter; many nieces and nephews. Art proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea. A special thank you for the care and compassion provided by Dr. Samuelson; his nurse, Anne; and to Emmanuel Hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday 11 am at Free Reformed Church, 950 Ball NE, Grand Rapids, with Dr. Jerry Bilkes officiating. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 1-3 and 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.
